About John

John Bostany grew up in both Brooklyn and the mountains of NYS, where he worked in agriculture, construction and hospitality at Hunter Mountain. Growing up, John was fascinated by copyrights that his Dad had received on designs for which he had won coveted fashion industry Tommy Awards. Joseph E. Bostany was chief designer for Cranston Print Works, one of the last remaining designed in America companies. John did well at NYU landing awards in the economics department and was recruited by the Federal Reserve before going on to law school at Boston College. Compassion for others is  important to John, and he spent years volunteering as an EMT on ambulance services, an emergency vehicle driver, a lead horse walker for Gallop Equine Therapy and as President of the Board of Directors of 1 Homes at the 1 Hotel in Miami Beach

Federal Reserve

John’s foundation is anchored to international banking which started after he graduated with high honors from NYU and was recruited by the elite Federal Reserve Bank of New York, John went on to be the most junior member of the International Banking Department of a prestigious New York law firm in the Chrysler Building.

Department of Justice

John was fortunate to have interned and after graduation clerked for a federal judge in the esteemed United States District Court for the Southern District of New York where he participated in legal research and analysis of the some of the most exciting and high profile cases including uses of surveillance and forfeiture laws, RICO, and Securities laws.

Emergency Medicine

John became a licensed Emergency Medical Technician early on and continued volunteering at Brooklyn’s BRAVO Volunteer Ambulance Service.

Horse Walking

John Bostany devotes some time during the summer months to GALLOP Equine Therapy volunteering as a horse walker.

Hotel, Hospitality, and Sustainability

John led the Board of Directors as President through the most difficult and challenging times, following turnover upon opening of 1 Hotel, the Covid-19 Pandemic, and the implementation of policy following the Surfside disasters. John is also the Chairman of the 1 Homes Sustainability Committee.
Fashion Law

John started his law career at Townley & Updike, a highly regarded law firm in New York's Chrysler building protecting trademarks such as Tiffany, Lifesavers, and Jaguar cars.
